The Pitmen shared their experiences of the match against the Luhansk side
Ihor Kiryukhantsev, Shakhtar U21 defender:
- We analysed the previous meeting and made necessary conclusions. In principle, we did everything well then. The only thing we had to improve was converting our opportunities. And we have succeeded today. We scored three goals, although we could have notched more. It was difficult to break the deadlock, but after that we loosened up and felt confident. In the second half, we focused on the game employing the flanks, and thanks to forwards’ speed, it was possible to carve open the defence. For example, when we registered the second goal, I played one-two with Pikhalyonok, who helped me into a breakthrough, then I beat the marker and delivered a cross from the flank, before Hlahola got on the rebound and fired the ball home. But after notching the third goal we had no doubts about the victory and coolly brought the match to the end. We are glad that we managed to cut the gap on the top spot team. The crucial thing for us is take the field being in such spirits, convert our efforts and earn maximum points.

- Today, we controlled the ball possession, created enough moments of danger and finally managed to convert them. The key event of the meeting was our first goal. Before that, it was tough, with us facing many challenges. After notching an opener, we got a psychological advantage, finally took over the initiative and claimed two more goals in the second half due to rapid attacking moves. I should note a good pitch condition. On such a turf, we were able to show our best qualities: speed, combination play. I am happy that the coaching staff entrust me a place in the line-up in the second match in a row. And it's nice that I managed to add a goal to my account today. But we must not stop at what has been achieved, and we should work, take pains, make progress and benefit the team.
