The Donetsk club’s footballers reflect on the clash vs Oleksandriia
Facundo Ferreyra, Shakhtar forward:
- It is hard to play the teams, who drop back completely in the defence, since it is not easy to find free zones and break through the opponents’ defence. Regardless of the opponents’ tactical formation, Shakhtar still set up many clear-cut chances. In the first half, we were a little unglued, and after the break, we tried to produce better performance, enjoyed a lot of possession at the other end and succeeded, although it was hard to play Oleksandriia. My goal? I always try to help the team and notch as many goals as possible. Therefore, I am very happy with the result: we made another step in the league. Of course, I am glad to lead in the top scorers' race, but it gives me much more pleasure that my club win.
Darijo Srna, Shakhtar captain:
- There is nothing to analyse, as we have produced very poor performance. We are unhappy, so the coach is unsatisfied. I do not know if we feel somewhat relaxed, but we did bring it on ourselves. In the first half, we were lucky that Oleksandriia players only hit the post, and after the break, Shakhtar operated better. We have been working on our play and finishing stages. For three years, we have been waiting for such a moment as the coming fixture versus Zorya. It will be decisive! I hope that many people will attend the stadium. I wish all of us together with our fans and spectators from Donetsk and Donbas celebrated winning the title next Saturday.
