The FC Shakhtar grassroots football project continues to develop

Since its launch in 2013, the Come on, Let’s Play! campaign has expanded its geography from 2 to 6 cities in Ukraine. Currently, training sessions for children are held in Donetsk, Makiyivka, Lviv, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove and Severodonetsk.

The number of sports grounds where children are engaged, has grown from 5 to 9. Accordingly, the total number of project training sessions has increased. Back in 2013, they held 66-69 sessions weekly, with as many as 90 sessions a week held presently. In the 2016/17 season, some new administrators (their current number is 9) and volunteers (28) have joined the Come on, Let’s Play! project.

From 2013 to 2017, the total number of project participants increased by 35%, with 620 children training in 36 groups. Over five years, the number of children involved in the Come on, Let’s Play! project has reached 2,180.
