A few hours before the start of the match Shakhtar vs Olimpik, Oleksandr Zubkov attended kids’ football team Champion under the management of Serhii Kandaurov, where 6-7 year-old kids play football
After learning the club’s infrastructure and answering questions from children, Oleksandr conducted a master class for young players and took part in the training session.
- Excellent event, as if I went back to my childhood, - said Shakhtar midfielder. - I think it is useful for the kids. I remember myself at six: I went into gymnastics and football. Then my father told me to make choice, and I chose the second. It's great that children are already interested in sports at this age.
The founder of kids’ football club Champion Serhii Kandaurov, an outstanding former Ukrainian football player, did not hide the satisfaction from the meeting. According to his story, it is crucial for children to watch an example of how purposefulness and a conscientious attitude to training sessions allow achieving great results.
- When a player comes to communicate with children, it is certainly positive both for them and for their parents. It was a warm-hearted atmosphere. Many thanks to Shakhtar, we want to wish the team good luck. Such events are necessary for attracting children not only to my school, but also persuading them to start playing sports. In general, this is a social project. Football should be a grassroots sport so that as many children as possible could go into it.
At the end of the meeting, Oleksandr Zubkov wished success to future champions and invited them along with their parents to the encounter with Olimpik, presenting tickets to the fan sector specially organized.
