Butko descended into the mine

Last Sunday, August 6, the defender of Shakhtar and Ukraine national team Bohdan Butko attended Heroiv Kosmosa mine of DTEK Pavlograduhol company and took part in the television project of Ukraina TV channel
After a short but necessary safety briefing, Bohdan went down into the mine, met miners and learned to his own cost the miners’ hard work.
- Generally, such an opportunity comes rarely, - notes the defender of the Оrange-and-Blacks. - I did not just went down into the mine for a couple of minutes and left, but I saw people work and earn money for the family. I have experienced everything myself, I have a lot of impressions and emotions. There is a miner among my relatives, too. My stepfather's father devoted his entire life to this profession, so I always try to extend greetings to him on the professional holiday. For me, this work means a lot, because I have lived in Donetsk for many years, trained at the Academy and play for FC Shakhtar. I'm proud to wear this club's jersey.
- How was your meeting with miners?
- We can rarely see miners directly during working hours. And they rarely meet with football players in life. I am very happy that we have met. You can say, now I very well understand the people who get up and go to the mine from the very morning. Having spaded five times and worked with a coal pick, I already felt tired. I feel how hard and painstaking this labour is.
