FC Shakhtar’s head coach Paulo Fonseca reflects on the Champions League draw
- All teams at this stage of the competition are strong. At the same time, I should note that we managed to avoid such great clubs as Barcelona and PSG in round of 16 - it would be much more difficult with them. In any case, I do not consider Roma as weak opponents, but it's probably more comfortable to play them. We have a rather long winter break ahead of us, but having enough time to prepare for the clash in the best possible way.
- How would you describe the Rome club?
- Roma are very strong and have excellent players. They finished on top of a very difficult group with Chelsea and Atletico. The Romans are coming fourth in the Italian league now. We are aware that the opponents are worthy and it won’t be easy.
- In your view, are Roma weaker than Napoli?
- The Neapolitans are the best in Italy for me now. Nevertheless, I won’t underestimate the strength of Roma. This is a perfectly organized team, wonderfully coping with the tasks set, so hard encounters await us.
