In his interview to shakhtar.com, the defender summed up the training camp results, assessed his physical condition and talked about the preparation for the meeting with Celta

- Sergii, the team’s mid-season training is coming to a close. Are you ready for the competitive games now?
- We have conducted the main part of the camp, so the major workloads are over. Currently we hold one training session a day to keep the form. Basically, we practise some tactical aspects. I think we’ll approach the game against Celta in the proper form.

- What’s your impression of the training camp?
- It’s interesting to hold a training camp in Portugal. It’s my first preparation for the season in this country. In terms of training, we haven’t noticed any particular innovations, as the coaching staff have built it around the same principles as they did in the summer: initially they focused on our fitness, and then we got some match practice.

- You’ve got five days left before the encounter with Celta. What do you know about the opponents?
- We know that they are a strong team, who play offensively. They have a great striker Iago Aspas, who often scores in the Primera. But we haven’t scrutinized the opponents yet. I suppose, in the next few days we will start analysing them in tactical terms.

- The return leg will take place on February 23 in Kharkiv. Do you expect decent support from the stands?
- Of course, we are expecting a full house! Shakhtar’s games in Kharkiv were attended by crowds of fans. We know that people from the Donbas reside here, who were forced to leave their area. They must be missing big football and might come to support us, and we, in turn, will try to delight them with our performance.
