On February 1, Shakhtar are to hold yet another friendly match in Portugal. The opponents of the Donetsk side will be SC Olhanense
In April, the club from the southern city of Olhão is going to mark the 105th anniversary since its foundation. In 1924, Olhanense raised their first trophy, having become the best team in Portugal. 21 years later, the Lions reached the National Cup final to suffer a loss to Sporting, Lisbon.
Regarding the recent history, in 2009 Olhanense reached the top flight to enjoy five-season stint there. Throughout that spell, once-famous national team players and young coaches Sérgio Conceição and Abel Xavier had been at the side. From 2010 to 2012, Shakhtar defender Ismaily had played for the Olhão-based team.
Currently, Olhanense occupies the bottom spot in the Segundo Liga table, falling eight points behind Freamunde. The lads under the management of 39-year-old Bruno Balthazar claimed two of the three home wins at Eshtadiu Jose Arcanjo.
