Brazilian midfielder has arrived at the Pitmen’s camp site yesterday
Alan Patrick, after playing in the Brazilian league for over three years, is back with Shakhtar. In an interview to shakhtar.com, he shared his feelings and plans for the future.
– Alan, congrats on your return to Shakhtar. What feelings are your experiencing?
– I am very happy to be back and will be very motivated. The club believes in me and expects me to deliver my best performance. I’ll try to do that. My goal is using this opportunity in the training camp’s first stage to the fullest. So I’m returning being very motivated, I'll be happy if I manage to secure a starting place at Shakhtar and leave my mark in the club history.
– During your absence, many things have changed: a new coach took charge of the team, with some new players joining in and Shakhtar being forced to play away from home for three consecutive seasons now. What’s your take on such changes?
– Right, it will all be somewhat different. In fact, I spent three and a half years outside the club. Now I'm back and will undergo the adaptation period again, because everything is a little bit different from the things that happened in the past. But I think everything will go smoothly, with the other Brazilians helping me with that. I also know that in such a difficult situation, Shakhtar provides the most comfortable conditions for all of us, the players and staff.
– Did you manage to follow Shakhtar games in the Ukrainian league and European competitions?
– It was difficult to do in the Ukrainian League case, as they don’t air it in Brazil. Only when they broadcast the Champions League and the Europa League games, I get to watch and root for my friends and the whole team.
– Who of Shakhtar’s Brazilians have you kept in touch with?
– Most frequently, I called and talked to Dentinho. And now, after joining the team at the training camp, I will try to establish rapport with all the players as soon as possible. As I said, I am very motivated to overcome whatever obstacle and achieve my football goals.
