Shakhtar in Spain: lessons for forwards
Friday, January 20, 2017
In contrast to intensive morning workout, the Pitmen’s afternoon session passed at a slower pace and lasted for one hour
Unlike previous days, splendid sunny weather has settled in La Manga today to give only more positive attitude to the team. Much attention was given to playing elements, with half of the time being spent on a two-sided game. For one part of the footballers, the session continued with a visit to the fitness centre, whereas the forwards stayed on the pitch to be honing their skills under Paulo Fonseca’s guidance for another half an hour.
– After the session, we trained individually under the charge of the head coach. He explained to us how to get ourselves open and lose markers properly, – tells Shakhtar forward Pylyp Budkivskyi. – Training sessions differ greatly from the ones I used to have in the past: everything is different, considerably faster, with more tactics, a lot of pressing and ball possession. I love everything, and I am happy to be with Shakhtar at the training camp. I set mind on proving myself at my best. I hope to stay with the team that I have always dreamt to play for.
Tomorrow is the Pitmen’s final day at the training camp in La Manga. On Sunday, Shakhtar are to hold a friendly match against Cracovia before coming back to Ukraine.
