Before the match

The Pitmen’s next opponents at the winter training camp were Norrköping, Sweden. Compared to yesterday's encounter with Austria Wien, Shakhtar head coach Paulo Fonseca changed the team’s line-up, making some rotations. Maksym Malyshev and Viacheslav Tankovskyi played defensive midfielders, with Vasyl Kobin taking the position of right defender, while Andriy Pyatov stayed in goal. Olexandr Kucher came onto the pitch wearing the captain's armband.
With a few Swedes inside the penalty area, Olexandr Kucher won the aerial challenge and headed the ball home to make it 1-0
First half

Though the Donetsk side enjoyed possession of the ball, the first moment of danger came near Andriy Pyatov’s goal. After Holmberg unleashed a strike into the near corner, Marcio Azevedo did well to deny the effort. He blocked the shot to prevent his side from conceding an opener. The Orange-and-Blacks retorted in the 17th minute. Maksym Malyshev nodded the corner only to see a save from Langer. After another attacking move, this time the Pitmen managed to open the score. With a few Swedes inside the penalty area, Olexandr Kucher won the aerial challenge and headed the ball home to make it 1-0. With 33 minutes on the clock, Andriy Boriachuk replaced Facundo Ferreyra. Since then, the opponents occasionally tried to hit on the counterattack, having succeeded to move the play away from their goal just late in the first half.
Oleksandr Zubkov bundled through a few defenders to drive his shot home to extend the lead to 3-0
Second half

After the interval, Paulo Fonseca renewed the entire line-up completely, with Boriachuk being the only first-half player staying on the pitch. The Pitmen’s active performance was very soon turned into two goal-scoring moves. On 51 minute, Darijo Srna connected with Fred‘s cross to drive it home with a one-touch volley, before Oleksandr Zubkov registered a goal in a little while. He bundled through a few defenders to drive his shot home to extend the lead to 3-0. Fred made an assist again. The following goal came into 64 minutes of the game, as substitute Gustavo Blanco Leschuk, in place of Andriy Boriachuk, laid the low cross off to Taison who gave no chances to the keeper to change the score to 4-0. The Swedes also had their scoring opportunities. Following one of the Swedes counters, Holmberg hit the post. On 69 minutes, Eliasson managed to drive a nice curve home to pull one back. 4-1. But the final word was left with the Orange-and-Blacks. A rapid counter-attack involving Taison and Mykola Matviienko ended in the goal notched by Blanco Leschuk who tapped teammate’s cross in to make it 5-1. However, there was more. With 6 minutes from time, Fred rifled a brilliant shot from the free-kick to see the ball bouncing off the crossbar and then finding the net, with the final score being registered at 6-1. Donetsk side created a couple of more clear-cut chances, with Alan Patrick and Taras Stepanenko being out of luck.

The Pitmen’s next match is to take place on January 31. In the Atlantic Cup competition, Shakhtar will take on Jablonec, Czech Republic at 18:00, Kyiv time. The live broadcast of the match will be available on Futbol 1 TV channel.
