Shakhtar in Portugal: rest in the morning, training in the evening
Sunday, January 29, 2017
Having got some free time in the morning, the players spent it as they wanted to
Someone was resting in the room and communicated with family, someone else was restoring the body with the help of spa treatments and massage.
Having recovered from the physical and emotional fatigue, the Pitmen appeared on the training pitch again in the afternoon: they ran a few laps and had a warm-up session to tone their muscles, then practised pressing and played a small-sided game. After the all-team session, some players went to do fitness training, with the rest organising a contest for shooting crosses from outside the box, which was won by Andrii Boriachuk.
- The first training camp involved more running, while now we deal with tactics and work with the ball, - tells the Shakhtar striker. – Everyone is recovering form, we also played two games in a row without any problems even along with having training sessions. Moreover, we had continuous rotation, with everyone spending one half on the pitch. Both meetings were spectacular and interesting. To differ from failing to win the first one, everything worked perfectly well in the second one. We are glad that the playing period of the camp is underway, as we always look forward to the games. Paulo Fonseca demands that the strikers operate quicker, without keeping the ball for too long, well offering themselves and, of course, netting many goals.
We want to point out that Viktor Kovalenko and Bohdan Butko started jogging. Also, the team are expecting Ismaily to return after becoming a father for the second time just recently.
The mid-season training will be resumed tomorrow. The Pitmen’s schedule involves two training sessions. And on January 31, Shakhtar kick off their Atlantic Cup campaign with a game against Jablonec.
