Shakhtar’s Brazilian defender told about working under the guidance of Paulo Fonseca, the desire to take part in competitive games and about his new image
- Marcio, could you share your impression of the training work in Portugal?
- I really enjoy everything happening at the training camp. I am happy that I am part of this team, working together with them daily to improve. Of course, a lot has changed over the recent year. When a new coach comes, he’s got his own requirements and the whole training process is organised differently. Currently, I try to maximally adapt to those requirements, hoping that some time later I will get one hundred percent helpful to Shakhtar.
- The Pitmen had two matches in Portugal. What do you make of your own performance?
- After I haven’t been with the team for almost a year, I want to get back to the previous level and help the lads again. Every day I work hard, being delighted at the fact of playing for Shakhtar again. That’s the most important thing for me. I think that every player recovering from an injury, has a huge desire to take the field again in the competitive games. I very much want to play and really look forward to that moment.
- You've changed your image a bit. Does it represent a new period in your life or it’s related to something else?
- Not at all, I’ve just decided to change a little bit. I did it before, while in Brazil. This time, I just wanted to change my haircut and have the hair dyed. But there’s nothing symbolic about it actually.
