Shakhtar to play in Kharkiv

Football Club Shakhtar has signed an agreement with the OSC Metalist to hold all the home games in European competitions, the Premier League and the Ukrainian Cup in Kharkiv
The agreement is effective until the end of 2017. Shakhtar will cover all expenses related to the maintenance of the OSC Metalist pitch. At the same time, the team will continue to be based in Kyiv and to train in Sviatoshyno.
"The matches we held in Kharkiv, have proved that there are many Shakhtar fans in this region. We are grateful to the authorities of Kharkiv and the Oblast, as well as to the FFU, for the possibility to play at the stadium of Metalist. This will enable us to be closer to our fans, and I am convinced that we can make them happy with our spectacular performance and good results," - said the club CEO Sergei Palkin.
In Kharkiv and the Oblast, there will be an extensive network for selling tickets, with a 20% discount available to the fans from Donbas. They also plan to resume operation of the School, Student and Family clubs. Besides, they have scheduled to open a shop for selling club merchandise.
On February 23, in the Europa League Round of 32 return leg, Shakhtar will take on Celta de Vigo at the OSC Metalist. A few days after the match against the Spaniards, the Pitmen will entertain Poltava-based Vorskla in the 19th round of the Premier League. The Come On, Let’s Play! project to have kicked off in Lviv in 2015 on the initiative of FC Shakhtar, will continue to operate. In Kharkiv, they also plan to implement the programme for developing grassroots football for children.
