All goals of the year 2016. Part 1: Marlos, Kovalenko, and Kucher

We are inviting our fans to recall all 123 goals scored by the Pitmen last year

The opening goal of the year 2016 turned out as beautiful as important. It was Marlos who scored it. In the Europa League Round of 32 reverse clash versus Schalke 04, the Brazilian, with his back to goal, kicked the back heel in ushering in the away victory in Gelsenkirchen. Another milestone event came about later in that match, with Viktor Kovalenko netting his debut goal in European competitions.

In the next round of the UEFA Europe League, the Orange-and-Blacks hosted Anderlecht, with another man from Shakhtar making his debut. Oleksandr Kucher scored his first ever goal in the European competitions. That encounter saw one more important event. Taison’s finish was the 300th goal in the entire European club cup history of the Donetsk side, being the 100th goal scored by the Orange-and-Blacks in the UEFA Europa League at the same time.

Maksym Malyshev's diving header – his first ever goal in European competitions – is also worth noting in the match.
