The head coach of Shakhtar reflects on the meeting with Vorskla
- Hello there! It’s an excellent spectacular win of our team. Our games vs Vorskla are always tough – they are strong opponents. The Poltava side made us literally sweat. They complicated our attacks, posing danger by counterattacking. Nevertheless, we proved ourselves defensively and created chances, so the victory is absolutely well-deserved.
- What caused such a significant change in the line-up after the Super Cup tie?
- We had our previous match on Saturday, having very little time for recovery. Stepanenko was suspended, Malyshev got injured. I trust absolutely all of my players, and today the guys have proved that there’re good reasons behind that fact.
- Why didn’t Taison play?
- He's also injured.
- Considering that Shakhtar will start their Champions League campaign at the group stage, are you planning to make your team rediscover their top form by that moment?
- To be honest, we’re not thinking about the Champions League yet. We always think only about our next encounter, and it will be tough, because we are facing another meeting with Dynamo.
