On July 3, the Orange-and-Blacks will play another test match at the training camp in Germany. The opponents of the champions of Ukraine will be Odense Boldklub
This club represents the third largest city in Denmark, located on the island of Funen and connected with the mainland with Europe's longest hanging bridges. Besides, Odense is famous for its world-renowned native – the writer of fairy-tales Hans Christian Andersen.
The football club was founded in 1887. After just over 100 years, Odense claimed their third league title (1977, 1982, 1989), which is still the most recent domestic league title. In modern history, the Striped became the runners-up three times in a row from 2009 to 2011. The club also boasts five domestic Cups.
In the competitive part of the 2016/17 season, Odense finished in the 11th slot in the table. At the second stage, the Miners’ opponents managed to qualify for the European club cup knockout stages, losing to Randers in the semi-finals. The Blue-and-Whites have been coached by a 55-year-old Dane Kent Nielsen, using the 4-4-2 formation.
Odense’s top scorer last season was the forward of the Faroe Islands national team Joan Simun Edmundsson (9 goals), with the Swede Rasmus Jonsson boasting one goal less.
