It's time to determine Shakhtar best footballer in the 2016/17 season. We offer to do this based on the voting results in each month
The list of nominees is as follows:
Marlos
The Brazilian has been recognized the best player three times. The fans noted his performance in August, December and May. In the previous season, Marlos made 44 appearances, which is the top result among his teammates. On top of that, the 29-year-old midfielder scored a winning goal in the Ukrainian Cup final and helped the Orange-and-Blacks lift another silverware.
Viktor Kovalenko
The 21-year-old Ukrainian has conducted another successful football year. He became Shakhtar best player twice, in September and November. During the season, Viktor operated effectively, having notched 10 goals.
Andriy Pyatov
The Donetsk side goalkeeper won the vote in February and March, with one of the team’s leaders being among the top three more than once. We should note the keeper’s reliability: he conceded only 28 goals in 40 matches.
Taison
April turned out to be the month of the Brazilian. The Donetsk team midfielder produced a productive performance, having 10 precision shots to his name. At the end of the football year, Shakhtar extended the contract with Taison, which had been on the international duty for Brazil national team already thrice.
Bernard
Under the management of Paul Fonseca, Shakhtar number ten appears more often on the pitch. His performance and eagerness to prove himself did not go unnoticed. Fans voted for Bernard in the first month of the season - July. The Brazilian took part in 37 meetings and registered 7 goals.
Maksym Malyshev
Shakhtar midfielder was named the best player in October, however, the team’s fans pointed out his confident performance in the midfield and stability in every match.
