Shakhtar defender speaks about the vacation and the teams’ new objectives
- Ismaily, how was the pre-season?
- It's always good to have a rest! Despite the fact that the vacation was short, it was intense. I went with my family back to Brazil to see my relatives, in a word I had some great time. Yes, I’d like to rest for longer, but we are all professionals and understand that we are facing a really tough season, so we must be fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
- What did Paulo Fonseca tell you at the meeting?
- Nothing special. He asked me how I’d spent the holiday, how I was feeling, he also greeted me on the beginning of the new season.
- What objectives are the Miners setting for the 2017/18 season?
- Firstly, we must retain the trophies that we’ve won. Our immediate objective is winning the Ukrainian Super Cup. Secondly, all the Shakhtar players want to prove themselves in the Champions League and advance in the major European competition as far as possible.
- Taison scored his first goal for Brazil national team. Did you congratulate the teammate?
- Of course I did! We are all happy for Taison. Scoring a goal for the Selecao is a very important and emotional moment for any Brazilian. I sent him a greeting message straight away. I wish him to score many more goals for the national team.
