On June 22, the holiday break of Ukraine internationals has ended
Shakhtar are currently lacking only Taison to form the full squad. The Brazil player will join the Miners in the coming days. We also want to note that Ivan Petryak, who had played last season on loan for Zorya Luhansk, as well as Shakhtar U21 player Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, trained with the team today.
The training was preparatory: warm-up, squares, ball handling and small-sided game across one half of the pitch. The champions of Ukraine have another session scheduled for tonight.
- The vacation was wonderful, - says Shakhtar midfielder Viktor Kovalenko. - I spent a week in Turkey with my friends, and went home to Kherson then. There, by the way, I gave a master class for the young players. It was interesting. In general, I got some positive emotions and I’m ready for the new season start. Our goals are unchanged: we must win the title, the Ukrainian Cup and prove ourselves as much as possible in the Champions League.
- Training is excellent, - Shakhtar U21 midfielder Oleksandr Pikhalionok shares his impressions. - The first team have very different requirements: you need to think faster, handle the ball and make decisions. At the moment we spend much time on tactics. The older guys are very helpful, they support us and advise us what to do at particular moments.
