The Miners finished the 2016/17 season
In six games of the month, Shakhtar players scored 11 goals, thus extending their record scoring run. In the Premier League, the Orange-and-Blacks scored 132 goals in 52 consecutive meetings.
In the first game in May, the Donetsk team secured the championship early by beating Zorya Luhansk 3-2. Two defenders got themselves on the scoresheet – Ismaily and Ivan Ordets, as well as striker Facundo Ferreyra.
The precision shot by Marlos brought the Ukrainian Cup triumph in the final standoff. In the 81st minute, the Brazilian beautifully fired the ball into the top corner of Dynamo goal. And the whole move deserves reviewing the goal more than once. In the league game against the Kyiv side, Alan Patrick excelled by shooting the ball into the far corner. The Brazilian has not scored for Shakhtar since May 2013.
The top scorer of the month is Gustavo Blanco Leschuk, who grabbed a brace in the encounter vs Chornomorets (3-0). Three more Shakhtar players scored a goal each, with Rizvan Ablatarov scoring an own goal for Chornomorets.
