Shakhtar on international duty: Arabidze debuts and scores

19-year-old Shakhtar striker Giorgi Arabidze took part in two games for Georgia national team during the domestic league break
On March 24, the Georgians met with their Serbia counterparts in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Arabidze came on as a substitute in the 69th minute of the game and thus debuted for his country’s senior team. Unfortunately, he did not manage to rescue Georgia national team from a 1-3 defeat. The Georgians sit in the fifth spot in their group after claiming just two points in five matches.
On March 28, Georgia national team played a friendly vs Latvia. The Shakhtar forward appeared on the field in the 63rd minute, initially helping his teammate to score a goal. At the end of the meeting, Giorgi Arabidze played a free-kick to score his first goal for the national team and seal a 5-0 win for the Georgians.
