Volyn vs Shakhtar: Pitmen’s opinions

The Donetsk team’s footballers shared their thoughts on the match against the Lutsk side
Viktor Kovalenko, Shakhtar midfielder:
- It's always a pleasure to win on the birthday of the head coach. All matches turn out to be tough so far. The opponents drop back and display, as a rule, defensive football against us, which creates certain difficulties. Near our goal, Volyn counted on either on winning aerial challenges and collecting the ball or launching a counterattack. We had plenty of goal scoring chances. I do not know what this is about, but in the latest three fixtures, opponents’ goalkeeper became nearly the man of the match. We need to continue to work on converting our opportunities. Today, we managed to realize one: the ball bounced a little bit in front of me, but it was nice to see it find the back of the net, eventually. It does not matter who scores, the main thing is that we claim a victory! We are eager to win all the matches remaining and claim the title.
We dedicate our victory to the coach, who has a birthday today. Paulo Fonseca is a person who deserves a lot. I think our results are significant
Bernard, Shakhtar midfielder:
- It is crucial to win every game. Everyone is aware of how important is every single match. We gear up for every game and expect to win only. Taison and myself understand each other perfectly well on the pitch. Unfortunately, previously Mister Lucescu hardly gave the opportunity for both of us to play at the same time, with him choosing only one of us, instead. But presently, thank God, we have such a chance. Taison and me give our all both in matches and in training sessions. We dedicate our victory to the coach, who has a birthday today. Paulo Fonseca is a person who deserves a lot. I think our results are significant. Look at the way Shakhtar have been working after he took charge of the team, and what performance we displayed in the Europa League campaign. However, this is football, such things happen, and we cannot win every match. A 13-point lead also speaks for itself.
