April turned out to be busy for Shakhtar football players – the Orange-and-Blacks had six meetings
The busy fixture schedule allowed more subordinates of Paulo Fonseca than usual to show their best qualities. Six games involved 21 performers, with only five players appearing in all of them.
One of the main contenders for the Player of the Month title is Brazilian Taison. The number 28 boasts three precision shots, two of which brought the Donetsk team wins in the league duel against Zorya and the Ukrainian Cup game vs Dnipro. Another Shakhtar halfback Bernard scored two goals in April.
Shakhtar striker Facundo Ferreyra appeared in the starting XI for the first time in the league season’s spring part and immediately got himself on the scoresheet. In four games played during the month, the forward scored three goals. Such effectiveness allowed him to become the sole leader in the league’s scoring race. And, of course, we want to highlight his contribution in the clashes vs Dynamo and Oleksandriia, when Ferreyra netted the winners.
