Shakhtar defender answered the journalists' questions at the open training session
- Yaroslav, what’s the mood in the team before, perhaps, the most important match of the season?
- The mood is good, everyone gets ready for the encounter with Zorya. Tomorrow we are flying to Kharkiv to defeat the opponents on Saturday and become the champions of Ukraine.
- You are the Shakhtar Academy graduate, facing a special match. Do you think that as many club graduates as possible should take part in such meetings?
- Shakhtar is my life. And the fact who are to play against us – Zorya, Dynamo – is not important. We go out for every encounter with only one goal – to win and earn the three points.
- In the previous meeting against Zorya, the Luhansk side's Bonaventure proved himself quite well. Will you mark him individually this time?
- No, I won’t. Rather, he will challenge me personally. Bonaventure is a good pacey striker who can cause the defenders problems. On our part, we’ll try to make him run on the pitch with the ball as rarely as possible.
- What do you make of this season yourself? Have there been more flaws, given Shakhtar being knocked out of the Europa League and the national team losing to the Croats, or positive things in connection with your approaching championship and advancing to the Ukrainian Cup final?
- We are striving to win the league gold and make it to the Champions League group stage. At the moment, the team think positively and we don’t have any negative emotions.
- In the Champions League group stage draw, the Pitmen may get into the first pot...
- It doesn’t depend on us. We don’t think about that. The main thing for us now is winning the league title.
- Do you think about the Ukrainian Cup yet?
- No, I don’t. My current thoughts are just about Saturday's match against Zorya.
