The players reflect on the victory and the tenth league title
Maksym Malyshev, Shakhtar midfielder:
- I am very happy and proud for the team that we’ve claimed the championship in such a difficult time. The fact that we’ve done it four rounds before the season end makes it twice as pleasant. This shows that we confidently went towards our goal, tried and made every effort to return the gold medals. We found ourselves in tough conditions, everything was against us, but it doubly stimulated the team. We fought together and won together. I want to convey my congratulations to all the fans who are currently in Donetsk. I know that they root for us and support us. We really miss them. I hope that we will return soon and celebrate the championship together!

We all very much wanted to win the title and worked to achieve that result. We waited for that for a long while, remaining without gold medals for two years, playing every game literally away. So now we are all happy!

- We all very much wanted to win the title and worked to achieve that result: the coaches, the football players, the masseurs, the doctors, the administrators. I'm very happy, I'm overwhelmed with emotions, because this is my first championship, being the tenth for the team though. We waited for that for a long while, remaining without gold medals for two years, playing every game literally away. So now we are all happy! I am delighted with managing to benefit the victory and scoring the decisive goal. In that episode, Rakits’kyy's merit is greater – he gave me a beautiful pass. But most importantly, that’s the win and the championship trophy. We need to continue in the same vein, we shouldn’t get complacent, because we are also facing the Ukrainian Cup final. And we want to win it! All the more so, as we’ll play in Kharkiv again. I'm sure there were lots of fans from Donetsk and the Oblast in the stands. They come to the matches, they support us well, and we try to thank them with a good outcome. We thank them very much for their patience and support!
