Shakhtar player Bohdan Butko answered the questions from the media at a press conference before the match vs Roma
- The question as to the defender: how similar is Roma’s offence to the attacking of Napoli and Manchester City and how different is it?
- Roma are a very good team, as evidenced by their Champions League Round of 16 qualification. The Italians have strong attacking players, whose performance we analysed and who we are ready to counter. That’s right that it won’t be easy defensively tomorrow, but we will try hard. The Romans net multiple goals, but they also concede many goals. I think we got well prepared for this match in tactical terms.
- De Rossi or El Shaarawy are most likely to play in your zone. Did you study those players personally and who of them would you like to see on your side as the opponent?
- I didn’t analyze it personally, but I know that Roma have all performers of high level - the poor ones just can’t be there. No matter who acts against me at my side, I will try to play my football and not let my opponent do anything near our goal.
- The recent match vs Chornomorets was good for Shakhtar’s attacking players, with the defenders not facing any difficulties with the opponents. Won’t this be a problem?
- Perhaps, from this point of view it wasn’t the best preparation, but we played our football, tried to attack, we didn’t allow the opponents to create chances and kept a clean sheet, which is good. Of course, I expect quite a different meeting tomorrow. We’ve been preparing for it for a long time, since the training camp time, and I think we’ve scrutinised Roma well enough.
- Everyone remembers Paulo Fonseca to have appeared at a press conference dressed as Zorro. Bohdan, what are you ready to do in case Shakhtar make it to the next round?
- I’m not sure about the quarter-finals, but in case of winning the competition, for example, I might have a shave. However, that’s too early to think about. The main thing is to achieve a positive result in tomorrow's match.
