On the last day of the Turkish training camp, Shakhtar held a test game against Dinamo Zagreb

Shakhtar’s starting line-up featured the defender Dodo, the recovered Sergii Kryvtsov and Dentinho who replaced the injured Bernard on the left wing.

Playing advantage

Paulo Fonseca's team immediately got the situation under control and had an impressive playing advantage. Early in the match, Dentinho had a chance, but the Croatian goalkeeper proved to be faster. The Zagreb side responded with a counterattack - Pyatov read the situation and did not allow Sudani to produce a shot. The first shot on target was delivered by Ferreyra, but the Croatian goalkeeper showed his good reflexes. The Orange-and-Blacks actively pressed the opponents and tackled them in the opposing half. After one of such interceptions, Facundo found himself one on one with the keeper, with the defender’s low tackle interrupting the attack at the last moment.

Chance for the young

During the break and during the second half, Paulo Fonseca changed the entire line-up, fielding many young footballers. At first, Oleh Kudryk found himself in the spotlight - the goalkeeper made two saves after dangerous strikes by Olmo. Shakhtar responded with Taison's long ball (inaccurately) and another scoring opportunity for Ferreyra: the Argentine received the ball almost on the goal line only to find his effort blocked. Oleksandr Zubkov who acted as a playmaker for most attacks, also performed actively. It was he who had the best opportunity to equalize, but Zagorac pulled his shot out of the top corner. Until the last seconds, the Donetsk team did not give up their attempts to equalise, but Dinamo's defence withstood the onslaught – 0-1.

Immediately after the match, the Miners will return to Ukraine, and on January 27 they will start the second stage of their mid-season training to be held in Dubai (UAE).
