Shakhtar assistant head coach Nuno Campos speaks about the winter training camp

- Nuno, what’s your take on the team’s form and training?
- It's absolutely normal that the guys have returned not in their best form after the holidays. However, they looked after themselves and were in an acceptable condition. Our first training camp in Turkey passed really well. The footballers did a great job, they are starting to pick up form right now.

- What is the role of big loads and training intensity in the first stage? How different will be the training camp in Dubai?
- Right, the intensity is always high, because it’s just crucial – everyone must be ready for the important competitive games immediately and at the highest level. Physical workload goes along with the ballwork. In Dubai, training will also have significant intensity, we display it throughout the season though. And with each passing day and improving form, the guys will feel better.

- What would you say about Shakhtar's performance in the two test games?
- Of course, the friendly meetings along with training are different from competitive games. The footballers showed their best side. The most important thing for us at the moment is to improve our fitness in order to be one hundred percent ready for the major games.

- How do Matviienko, Hrechyshkin and Dodo blend in with the outfit?
- They’ve been adapting excellently. Matviienko trained with us; our requirements and objectives are not new to him. Hrechyshkin and Dodo try to learn it as quickly as possible, but we understand perfectly well that it takes some time in such cases. I mean the new reality and the team’s highest level.

- It was your first training camp with Shakhtar in Turkey. What’s your impression?
- Great conditions! We really liked everything: the fields, the hotel, the food... Great reception, top-level organization. There’s no doubt that Turkey is one of the best countries for holding a training camp.
