The Shakhtar Academy U15 team won the DUFLU 2017/18 final tournament
On July 1, the decisive clash in this age group brought forth another round of the Ukrainian ‘El Clasico’.
Defeating Dynamo in Schaslyve
The boys of Henadii Zubov and Oleksandr Koval opened the scoring in the 22nd second of the second half, when Christian Bako’s attempt hit the near corner off a defender, with the Kyiv team managing to level it towards the end of the game thanks to a set-piece delivery.
The future of the gold medals was decided in a penalty shootout, with the Orange-and-Blacks’ performance being just clinical: the goals were netted by Ocheretko, Kapinus, Nedes, Kozik, Holub, Bako and Maistrenko.
Dynamo U15 1-1 (6-7 on pen.) Shakhtar U15
Goals: 0-1 Bako (36), 1-1 Opanasenko (69)
Shakhtar U15: Puzankov, Kapinus (Trochymchuk, 70), Nedes, Mampassi, Maistrenko, Vuantu, Ocheretko, Shostak (Zakruzhnyi, 67), Kozik, Bako, Pohorelyi (Holub, 45)
- I gave them the game plan to focus on the defensive play, to play tightly, to move and help one another. We tried to intercept the ball and launch some blistering counterattacks, that's exactly how we scored after the break, - pointed out the Shakhtar U15 coach Henadii Zubov. - Psychology came to the fore. The guys coped with that: they conceded the return goal in the end of the meeting, but at the same time they were more stable mentally. We were ready for the penalty shootout, where our players did not fail. Confidence is acquired in the training process. This result is a reward for the work throughout the season. Well done, congrats to everyone on the victory! And it’s doubly pleasant that several Academy teams have become champions this year.
