Shakhtar defender Ismaily told us about his first Brazil cap
- Ismaily, the invitation to the national team is the most cherished dream for many Brazilian players. What does that mean for you?
- I’m really pleased with this opportunity. Each of us is actually burning with the desire to defend the colours of their country. My dream is coming true at the moment, and I want to make the most of the moment I'm experiencing.
- How did they meet you at the Selecao camp? What did Tite say?
- They received me very well. It's great that I’m with Taison and Fred, as well as with Costa, Fernandinho and Willian, who previously played for Shakhtar. The professor Tite and his assistants greeted me, congratulated me, expressed their confidence and allowed me to feel at home.
- How do you feel about the fact that there are already six Miners, both acting and former ones, in the team?
- Shakhtar has long been working with the young talented Brazilians. When they improve their performance and mature, they become candidates for playing in the national team, which is quite natural. In recent years, such invitations have become commonplace, and this once again demonstrates the high level of the club and the players.
- Your family are happy and are waiting for your debut?
- Of course, they are. The family are proud of me and know all the difficulties that I encountered on my way.
- What are your impressions of the first training sessions?
- Everything’s perfect! The professor Tite and the coaching staff conduct very intensive and useful activities. Working among the best players in the world is an incredible experience.
