The 17-year-old Shakhtar midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk shared his impressions of the first training session with the senior team
- I’m really happy to get this opportunity. I worked hard and always believed that one day I would be side by side with the players like Taison, Marlos, Stepanenko, and others. Here, all the guys are professional. The session is held at a serious level: high speed, intensity, heavy workload. But that’s normal. It takes some time to adapt and get used to it.
- How did the first team players receive you?
- They gave me a warm welcome. I’m familiar with all the guys, we communicate on a regular basis. I got some special attention from Taison - he, as the captain, supported me. And the rest of the Brazilians were positive, smiling and joking. When I just watched Shakhtar games as an onlooker - that was another thing, but when you find yourself inside, you understand how high is the individual level of each player and of the team as a whole.
- What did you talk with Paulo Fonseca about after the session?
- Paulo Fonseca said that I would now train with them, with the first team. We also discussed what I need to change in my performance, because in the reserve team I’ve got one role, but here the requirements are slightly different. I said that I understood those things, I just need to adjust a little bit and practise them with the teammates.
