In partnership with HYPE Sports Innovation, Shakhtar became a participant in the world's largest accelerator of sports start-ups
In Kyiv on September 13, they held a presentation dedicated to the start of their co-operation.
Implementing ideas
As part of the partnership between Shakhtar Donetsk and HYPE Sports Innovation in Ukraine, they will implement the first SPIN accelerator program to be focussed on developing innovation in sports and maximizing the potential of the Ukrainian sports tech start-ups.
The SPIN Accelerator program at Shakhtar Donetsk will invite start-ups with innovative solutions around sports, in various sectors, among them are: fan engagement, performance and analytics, wearable sports analysis technology, big data, smart stadiums and more.

HYPE Sports Innovation has built the largest global ecosystem in sports innovation including over 30,000 members featuring retail brands, athletic clubs, federations, and academia.

Many companies would have lost heart in this kind of situation. Procedure
In the near future, on the www.hypesportsinnovation.com website, they will start receiving applications for innovative projects. Jointly with HYPE, they will select 10 start-ups. Within four months, the teams of those projects will be trained by mentors of the renowned global brands of Nike, Reebok, UEFA, Adidas and others. The winners will have the opportunity to partner up with FC Shakhtar.
- Thanks to the operation of the accelerator, the Ukrainian sports start-ups will be able to become a part of the global sports and IT market for the first time ever and to receive funds for their development, - pointed out Yuriy Sviridov, FC Shakhtar Communications Director. - Shakhtar is interested in new technology that will enable the club to raise the fans’ interest in attending matches, and help the team to win every game and claim trophies. We hope that through the fulfilment of this project, there will appear new ideas and new companies and that we will be consumers of those services.
HYPE Sports Innovation runs a network of accelerators with sports federations and brands, connecting them to thousands of sports start-ups. The joint activities lead to investment and implementation of innovation in the various leading sports sectors.
