The midfielder Marcos Antonio reflects on his starting line-up debut with Shakhtar, his first goal for the club and the victory over Dnipro-1
- Marcos, today you’ve appeared from the off for the first time. How do you feel?
- I rejoiced at this opportunity because I worked hard for that! I appeared being well-prepared and concentrated, I knew that it would be a very difficult game. I guess I played well, and, most importantly, we achieved victory. Now, it’s important to continue working to always benefit the team.
- Who scored the second goal after all - Solomon or you?
- Well, actually I did. Solomon shot it, the ball hit my head and then touched the net. They seem to have put my name on the scoresheet. Of course, the goal was unexpected, but it happened - and we should rejoice! My debut goal as a professional, my first goal in Shakhtar shirt is an important moment. I want to dedicate it to my family who always support me and help me. This goal is for my family.
- Dnipro-1 are the First League leaders. What do you make of the opponents?
- A good team, well-knit and organized, they perform perfectly well on the pitch. I can only congratulate them on today's game.
- Shakhtar decided everything in the dying minutes. What prevented you from doing that earlier?
- We did a good job today, but the opponents were very compact, they just parked the bus. However, we eventually managed to score two goals. The main thing is to continue in the same vein. My congratulations to the team on the win!
- In the final, you are facing another First League representative Inhulets. How serious are the opponents?
- Honestly, I don’t know this club yet. But judging by what I heard and the fact that they reached the final, I would say that this is certainly a worthy opponent. Ahead is the final!
