On August 22 in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Shakhtar Social launched its Come On, Let’s Play! project
Training sessions kicked off at the new football ground of secondary school 15 (2A Gogol St). Here, 60 children will be training under the leadership of Vladyslav Bazaka.
Football is a game of millions. I am sure that regular coach-assisted training sessions at a high-quality ground and with good balls will allow them to develop their talents and achieve success
On the opening day, the FC Shakhtar Academy assistant director for education & training Ihor Leonov visited the project participants:
“I want to congratulate the guys on the start of the Come On, Let’s Play! Project in Pokrovsk. Football is a game of millions. I am sure that regular coach-assisted training sessions at a high-quality ground and with good balls will allow them to develop their talents and achieve success.”
The project partner in Pokrovsk is Donetskstal. Training sessions will be held three times a week. On Thursday, they held the first session that included a number of activities with prizes for children. The keepie-uppie contest was won by a young player Anastasiya Zhyhadlo who received a ball autographed by footballers as a gift.
Pokrovsk is the 26th city involved in the children's grassroots football project Come On, Let’s Play!. In 2019, more than 3,000 children take part in it.
