Shakhtar defender Sergii Kryvtsov spoke about the team’s preparation for the final game vs Zorya in 2019

- Sergii, have you managed to switch to the match against Zorya?
- It wasn’t easy. The Champions League game hit us emotionally. But now, all our thoughts are about Zorya. This is the last game this year, against very tough opponents, so we are psyching ourselves up for it. We target all the remaining strength at fulfilling everything on the pitch.

- How’s the recovery going?
- Yesterday, those who had taken part in the match against Atalanta had a recovery session. Today, too, the session has been of a recovery type, with more tactic training. I guess we’ve got enough time.

- Shakhtar are used to playing once in three days, but, perhaps, given the end of the year, this may become an additional trump card for Zorya?
- In any case, they will be fresher. Even if we have a rotation, still a large group of players played for 90 minutes two days ago. But that’s not the point. We need to carry out our job correctly, fulfilling the tactical plan that the coaches will give us. We have high-profile players.

- In the first stage in Kharkiv, you were losing 0-2, finally winning it 4-3. Can we expect some open play in Zaporizhya?
- Probably yes. In the last round, the match against Dynamo showed that Zorya were making all-out attacks. I think neither the opponents nor we will just sit deep, seeing many attacks instead.

- You get some serious workload, and you mustn’t make any errors.
- Yes, just as always in the high-profile games: against Zorya, Dynamo, and in the Champions League. The whole team have great responsibility and workload in the defensive third, not only the defenders. Defence begins with the attackers.
