In June, the Shakhtar players Valerii Bondar, Viktor Korniienko, Yukhym Konoplia, Maksym Chekh, Oleksii Kaschuk, and Danylo Sikan won the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup title with Ukraine U20
On July 16, in Kyiv, the club CEO Sergei Palkin held a meeting with the players and presented each of them with a memorable personalised gift - the crossed mining hammers. The former Shakhtar captain and current manager assistant Darijo Srna also took part in the event.
