Shakhtar U19 midfielder and captain Artem Bondarenko became the top scorer in the Ukrainian U19 League, scoring 20 goals
- We remained undefeated in the Championship, and this will be a pleasant bonus for us. I wanted to win gold medals, but it so happened that we had claimed the second spot, although we suffered no defeats.
- How tough is the schedule, when you cannot lose points in any single match?
- Yes, it’s not easy, especially since in all encounters the opponents, while playing against us, stood deep and just fought back. In that kind of situation, as soon as you don’t convert a couple of chances, you already get nervous, because you can’t lose points. We wanted to win in each round, so we felt the moral pressure.
- It developed similarly against Chornomorets and the team won by their character?
- We had one goal - to win it. And only after that, we waited for the news from Lviv: what if a miracle happened ... Although the Lviv side didn’t help, we have done our job.
- During the season you scored 20 goals and became the most prolific league player. Congratulations!
- Thank you! It’s nice to be top scorer. My objective is to help Shakhtar in every match. And even though I was never famous for my scoring ability, I managed to score 20 goals. I am pleased with that.
