Fernando Valente took the helm at Shakhtar U21
Shakhtar U21 are back from vacation to start preparing for the new season under the leadership of the 59-year-old Portuguese coach this week.

Born on July 22, 1959 in Meinedo (Porto, Portugal).
From 1996 to 2011, he held senior positions at the USC Paredes (sporting director, CEO). In the 2012/13 season, he was the manager of SC Espinho. He worked in the second Portuguese league at CD Aves (2013-2014), CD Santa Clara (2015-2016), and Varzim SC (2018-2019). He also coached the Chinese Shandong Luneng Taishan U19.
