Fans' opinion poll for Shakhtar's Player of October is over now
5,964 fans took part in the opinion poll in the club’s official social networking accounts. The Player of the Month is Taras Stepanenko (1,954 votes). Just slightly behind the winner is the goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov with the symbolic 1,936 points. They are followed by Taison (1,218), Ismaily (541), and Mykola Matviienko (315).
“The choice came as a surprise to me. But I am grateful for the recognition by the fans and for the fact that they not only see the work of the attacking players but also appreciate the efforts of those who do the rough work,” Taras Stepanenko pointed out. “Probably, in October, the best match was the one against Atalanta, in which we secured an important victory. In general, the month was pretty tough, with many difficult and emotionally tense matches, with the consecutive meetings with Dynamo Kyiv and Dinamo Zagreb taking a lot of energy. But we passed that period, we coped with it and hope that the things are going to get just better and better!”
