Brazil U20 footballer Marcos Antonio joined the Miners in January 2019. In March of the same year, he made his debut for Shakhtar. In the remainder of the 2018/19 season, he made 10 appearances in the Ukrainian League and Cup, scoring 1 goal and claiming a Golden Double with the team.

Netting the first European goals

The 2019/20 season was the first full season for Marcos at Shakhtar. He harmoniously blended into the squad and began getting more playing time, debuting in European competitions and scoring a goal against Wolfsburg. In total during the season, Marcos Antonio has made 28 appearances and scored 3 goals. On June 13, the Brazilian turned 20.
