Fans have named Shakhtar Player of the Year 2020
The poll was conducted on the official Instagram page and on Shakhtar's news channels on Telegram and Viber. There were seven candidates to choose from - all those who have won the Player of the Month title during the year (Taison, Marlos, Solomon, Moraes, Korniienko, Tete and Trubin).
Trubin is the best
12,383 people took part in the poll. The honourable third position went to Manor Solomon who had been supported by 3,270 poll participants. Tete got a few more votes - 3,314. The winner is Anatolii Trubin after bursting into the final poll as the Player of December - 3,981 fans recognized the Shakhtar keeper as the best player in 2020.
Goalkeeper merits
It should be noted that a goalkeeper has become Shakhtar Player of the Year for the second year in a row - in 2019 the award went to Andriy Pyatov. Previously, the fans picked Darijo Srna, Alex Teixeira, Taison, and Marlos twice.
Shakhtar school
In August, Anatolii Trubin turned 19 years old. The Shakhtar Academy lad made 20 appearances for the club in 2020, including eight clean sheets (vs Desna, twice vs Kolos, Dynamo, Dnipro-1, Real Madrid, and twice vs Inter). Per 90 minutes, the opponents produced 4.13 shots on his goal. Trubin made an average of 3.14 saves (47% based on his reflexes), sending long balls with an accuracy of 57%.
