Kovalenko is Man of the Match

UEFA recognized Kovalenko as the MVP in this match. For the last time Viktor started Shakhtar's match two months ago - against Desna in early October. Then followed an injury period, the international break, testing positive for coronavirus, appearances as a substitute. Against Madrid, Kovalenko proved effective in midfield, with a minimum number of lost balls (having a smaller figure than in the last Champions League campaign), he helped in transitions to attacks and provided an assist to the penalty area that was sent home by Dentinho.
