On December 9th, Shakhtar will have the 250th match in European competitions
In Milan, the Orange-and-Blacks will face Inter Milan on the UEFA Champions League MD6.
Debut
The first European game in the club history took place in Donetsk on the 15th of September 1976. In the UEFA Cup Round of 64, Vladimir Salkov's team met with BFC Dynamo Berlin of the GDR. Shakhtar won it 3-0, with Vladimir Rogovskiy, Mikhail Sokolovskiy and Vitaliy Starukhin scoring.
Statistics
In 249 games, the Miners claimed 113 wins. And one - the most important in the club’s history to date - was secured in extra time of the 2009 UEFA Cup final against Werder Bremen. Aggregately, the Donetsk team netted 389 goals and conceded 348.
In the Champions League (qualifying rounds and main competition), the team had 135 games: 54 wins, 29 draws and 52 defeats.
