Shakhtar Social and Parimatch Foundation gave New Year gifts to kids

More than a year ago, the foundations teamed up in the framework of their projects called Come On, Let’s Play! and Yes, I Can! Inclusive training sessions for children with disabilities are conducted in Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv and Poltava.

Training and pleasant surprises

On December 6, the A+ Gymnasium in Kyiv hosted an event at which young project participants were presented with the New Year gifts from Shakhtar Social and Parimatch Foundation. Shakhtar midfielder Heorhii Sudakov came to visit the kids. He took part in a joint training session, had pictures taken with the guys and signed autographs.

“This is my first time at this kind of training session. I like training with children: when I see their joy, those emotions pass to me,” said Heorhii Sudakov. “These are really good projects! Children need to develop socially, and football helps them to do so. Positive emotions are the most important thing for children. I want them to rejoice, I want us to get together with them here, and I want them to be happy.”

The Shakhtar Social Director Inna Khmyzova stressed the importance of regular sessions for children with disabilities and special needs:

“The most important thing for us is regular training. Both the parents and we see the benefits of sports for children, in particular for children with disabilities. We are happy that Heorhii arranged a small celebration for kids. This kind of events with the participation of players help us to draw public attention to the project and to tell people how important it is to expand access to sports for children with disabilities.”

Yekaterina Belorusskaya, president of the international Parimatch Foundation:

“We decided to wish the kids happy upcoming holidays and give them gifts. The foundation team, the footballer, the coaches and children genuinely enjoyed the joint training session. Our programme has operated for over a year now and we see a significant positive impact on the children’s functional development. I'm sure it also helps their socialization and personal development.”
