Inter defender Danilo D'Ambrosio shared his expectations ahead of the decisive Champions League group stage match vs Shakhtar
- Last year, you played more as a wide midfielder, this year more as a defender. Where are you best?
- Last year I played more as a wingback than one of the back three. The boss gives us many solutions to be ready to cover any position on the pitch. So playing at one position or another is not a problem for me, but our collective play is the key to meeting our objectives both individually and as a team.
- You are one of the veterans of this side. Is this the strongest team we’ve seen since you joined Inter?
- I’ve been here many years, but in my opinion, it’s not right to compare even last year’s Inter - not to mention the other years - with the current one. In regards to the past, our way of playing and our approach to this shirt has certainly changed. I’m certain that we’ll keep on growing because we have a winning mentality.
- You’ve encountered Shakhtar in this August’s UEL semis, dominating and winning 5-0. Then in the UCL you tied 0-0. What do you expect of tomorrow’s game?
- I agree with Mister - he said that we’re facing an important game full of obstacles. When we played Shakhtar and lost concentration, we experienced problems. But tomorrow, we’ll need to perform at 110% to bring home the three points. We want no regrets at the end.
