The training sessions for children have been organised as part of a joint project of the Shakhtar Social foundation, the Special Olympics Ukraine, and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Ukraine)

Ahead of the match against Chernihiv-based Desna, Shakhtar captain Andriy Pyatov and striker Danylo Sikan visited the Kharkiv school No. 124. Every weekend here, they hold football sessions for a team of girls with special needs. The Shakhtar players trained together with the girls, signed autographs and had a group photo taken.
Football is the number one sport in the world. We, the players, should support such projects
“Football is considered the number one sport in the world. We, the players, should support such projects,” says Shakhtar captain Andriy Pyatov. “I’m impressed with the heroism of the parents and coaches. These are our children, and they deserve the very best.”
It's always nice to chat with kids. We’ll try our best to motivate them to continue doing sports
“We, just like these girls, get charged with positive emotions after such meetings,” the Shakhtar forward Danylo Sikan shares his impressions. “It's always nice to chat with kids. We’ll try our best to motivate them to continue doing sports.”

We want to remind you that football sessions for children with disabilities are also held as part of the Shakhtar Social project in Kyiv, Poltava, and Lviv.
