In an interview to Shakhtar News, Shakhtar defender Mykola Matviienko shared his take on the upcoming Champions League clash vs Gladbach
- Do you regard the upcoming game in Germany as decisive?
- Indeed, for us every current match is like a final, and we try to win every match. It’s very important for us to play well in Germany and to prove ourselves to the fans after the home defeat.
- What conclusions did the team draw after losing to Gladbach?
- We immediately analyzed the game and the mistakes, and now the coaches are more focussed on our play in the upcoming match. The meeting in Kyiv showed that they are very strong opponents but we hope to display a good performance and win.
- Both Shakhtar and Monchengladbach retain their chances of reaching the knockout stages. Is this the most interesting Champions League group you've ever played in?
- It might be more visible to the onlookers but, in my opinion, this is one of the most interesting and at the same time toughest groups.
