The Italian specialist has become an assistant to the FC Shakhtar Director of Football
Two-year deal
Carlo Nicolini signed a two-year contract with Shakhtar and assumed the role of an assistant to the Director of Football Darijo Srna.
“This is full happiness! I am glad to be here again. Shakhtar is my sports and working family, ” Carlo Nicolini told Shakhtar News. “I always followed the team. I feel like I’ve never left Shakhtar at all during these four years. I’ve kept in touch with the president - I am very grateful to him for the opportunity to work again for the benefit of the club. I also want to thank Darijo, Sergei Palkin and the rest of the staff. I’m so happy that they gave me the opportunity to rejoin this great club to try to help them win continuously just as I did before. Shakhtar is one of the best clubs in Europe, and everybody knows this. I hope that my experience and knowledge about Shakhtar, Ukraine and Europe will be useful in my new role for the development of the club. We have never stopped growing and certainly winning. This club has a winning spirit! I will try to be as useful as possible here. And, of course, hello to Shakhtar fans and good luck in this new season! I am here to win many more titles.”
Setting off for new trophies
For 12 years, from 2004 to 2016, Carlo Nicolini worked as a fitness coach at Shakhtar. Together with the club, he won 22 trophies: the UEFA Cup, 8 league titles, 6 Cups and 7 Super Cups of Ukraine.
