Shakhtar defender Dodo has signed a new five-year deal with the club
The Brazilian full-back has been at Shakhtar since December 2017. He spent the 2018/19 season on loan at the Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes with Luis Castro at the helm before rejoining the Miners.
As part of the Orange-and-Blacks, Dodo made 39 appearances and scored three goals, winning the Cup and two Ukrainian league titles.
- We are delighted to have signed a new five-year contract. I would like to wish Dodo the best of luck. I’m sure he has a great future in football,” Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin pointed out. “For us, this is a very important signing in terms of the club's development strategy, our vision and future results.
- Dodo performed well last season. Is he ready to become a leader at Shakhtar?
- He is ready to become part of the concrete foundation of our team. He is definitely a starting-XI player. Dodo proved it with his play, professionalism and results. I think that he is number one in his role these days.
